EDX can help you prepare for the initial bulk registration of your customers. Once you are satisfied that all customer details
are correct and the required collateral profiles for your business confirmed, we can complete the bulk registration on your behalf using ESIS - our software interface to the PPSR.

For each successful registration you will receive an email attaching a verification statement, which is a copy of the financing statement, and a second email detailing the financing statement token, which is an electronic password necessary for registry maintenance.

If you were not using EDX for your bulk registration you would need to open each email, extract the relevant information, match it to each customer and store it safely. For all but a very small number of debtors, this could be a logistical nightmare.
Conversely, if you are using our registration software for ongoing registry maintenance, all this information, including the critically important expiry date, is securely held in a searchable database.

Even if you choose to use the government website for ongoing registry maintenance, we will provide you with a spreadsheet of registrations containing financing statement number, token and expiry date matched against each debtor.

Most other service providers focus solely on registration and do not even mention the ongoing registry maintenance obligations you take on when deciding to register against your customers. In the following pages we will outline those obligations and how EDX can help you meet them.


Once you have completed the initial bulk registration of customers you will need to ensure you have procedures in place for registry maintenance (including new registrations). There are three possible methods to consider:
  1. The ESIS hosted solution where you access our registration platform.
  2. The EDX managed service where you outsource registry maintenance to EDX.
  3. Use the government website for registry maintenance.
ESIS Hosted Solution
ESIS is the proprietary registration software and system designed by EDX. It stands for Electronic Securities Information System, and its naming is quite deliberate. It is comparatively easy to register on the PPSR using any one of a number of service providers. However, the real challenge lies in managing that portfolio of registrations and processing new registrations in a timely manner.

In order to manage your portfolio effectively you need a fully searchable database of registrations. This will enable you to respond to notices, and to amend, discharge and ultimately renew your registrations in order to maintain protection. ESIS makes management of this portfolio a breeze.

EDX Managed Service
At the other end of the spectrum, some of our clients have a very small number of registrations, although they may be protecting very high value equipment. For these companies, it may not be worth building the in-house knowledge to manage the PPSR.

To cater for this we provide a fully outsourced service at modest cost.

Government Website
The Government website is viable for low volumes, and we will discuss this with you during the planning stages. If you opt to use the website, we provide basic training in addition to the fact sheets and tutorials available through the site itself.

Helpdesk Support
For users of the ESIS hosted solution and the managed service, we provide telephone-based help desk support within the overall EDX fee structure. This service covers both technicalities of how to register and basic help with PPSA issues. If the matter cannot be dealt with quickly, we can escalate to one of our consultants so that you get the service level you need.
